Ogden - Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center
Ogden Regional Medical Center is the only hospital in Weber County offering advanced hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). This treatment involves the delivery of pure oxygen in sealed, pressurized chambers to patients with certain injuries or medical conditions.
If you have a severe wound or one that has not healed over time, HBOT can help you heal better and faster while reducing scarring. Remember too, HBOT can save lives and reduce injuries if carbon monoxide poisoning ever strikes you or your family unexpectedly.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy helpful for these conditions:
• Chronic bacterial infections such as actinomycosis
• Acute carbon monoxide poisoning
• Inadequate blood flow that could result in loss of function, limb or life
• Acute or chronic bone infection that has not responded to appropriate treatment
• Crush injuries and non-healing, reattached limbs
• Cyanide poisoning
• Wounds or ulcers caused by diabetes
• Decompression sickness (diving injury)
• Gas embolism in bloodstream blocking circulation
• Gas gangrene, an infection in muscle tissue
• Bone and soft tissue damage; an unavoidable result of radiation therapy
• Insufficient oxygen to skin grafts and flaps
• Rapidly progressive (necrotizing) infection in the skin or soft tissues
