What is Maternal-Fetal Medicine?
Few women plan to have a medical problem during their pregnancy. However, pre-existing conditions put some women at risk from the start, and even the most normal pregnancy can become complicated. In fact, 10 percent of women and/or their babies need highly specialized care during pregnancy.
Perinatologists provide this type of special care, and are often called maternal-fetal medicine or MFM physicians. They have advanced, intensive training in diagnosing and treating complications or medical problems during pregnancy.
Our maternal-fetal physicians in Utah have many years of experience in providing specialized care for pregnant women and babies before they are born.
We are here to help if your obstetrician suspects that you or your baby might be experiencing a complication while you are expecting. Our experts can also provide assistance during a normal pregnancy. We would be happy to determine your baby's size and due date.
